Big Fir

Landscape architecture for a vineyard estate in Oregon’s Dundee wine region links the home with the surrounding landscape using low maintenance, native plantings. A tantalizing kitchen garden creates an intimate agrarian experience and a newly planted mature elm anchors the entry and gives the home a sense of history and permanence.

Project Date: 2020-21
Location: Dundee wine region, Oregon

Low maintenance plantings that match the surrounding flora were used throughout the design.

The client’s vision of a kitchen garden and outdoor dining space were brought to life with materials like core ten steel and stained concrete that matched the modern style of the home. Down lighting built into the retaining walls makes for easy late night garden perusing.

Diverse plantings naturally connect the eye to the vineyards beyond the home.
